Most People are Thinking About Fitness on the Wrong Timeline

League of Wildness,

We think about health and fitness on the wrong timeline.

The industrial-fitness-complex is great at selling fast results, quick fixes, and 6-week transformations.

And to be fair, those things can work.

You can change your body in a relatively short amount of time.

But the better question is:

Will it last?
And what does it cost you to get there?

I think a smarter way to think about health and fitness is this:

Where will your health be in 3 years?
What about 30?

That is a very different question.

It shifts your focus away from intensity for intensity’s sake and toward things you can actually keep doing.

This is a big reason I’ve become so obsessed with walking with weight — aka Rucking — along with a consistent mobility practice.

These are not flashy workouts.

They are not the kinds of things that usually go viral.

But they work.

More importantly, they are the kinds of practices you can keep doing for a very long time.

The power is in the consistency.

Because the real win is not doing something heroic for 6 weeks.

The real win is building a body and a life that still works 10, 20, and 30 years from now.

The real magic is not intensity.
It’s consistency.

An object in motion tends to stay in motion.

Be the kind of person who stays in motion.

Much love!
