FAQ
Can't I just use the backpack I already have to Ruck?
No! Regular backpacks are not meant to carry weight and can cause severe pain and/or injury.
Is carrying heavy weight bad for my back?
No. That is a myth. Rucking makes your back stronger.
What is Rucking?
Rucking is low-impact strength training where you walk or hike carrying weight.
How much weight should I use to Ruck?
Start with 10-20 pounds and slowly increase the weight from there. We sell Weight Plates that fit perfectly into our Rucking Pack.
How often should I Ruck?
If you're new to exercise or just getting off the couch start with 1-2 Rucks per week. If you already workout and/or walk regularly start with 3-4 Rucks per week. Either way - start with shorter Rucks and slowly increase the distance.
Is Rucking good for weight loss?
YES! Rucking burns at least 3 times as many calories as walking and is one of the best and safest ways to lose weight.
Will the Ruck hold my laptop?
YES! Fits laptops up to 15.5" x 10".
Does the Ruck come with a Hip Belt?
The COMPLETE RUCK has a hip belt included. The Starter Ruck DOES NOT include a hip belt.

We have tested our Ruck up to a weight of 150 pounds.
Do you have a lifetime Warranty?
We guarantee the wild gym Ruck for life. We'll replace it for free (at our discretion) for any manufacturing defects. Normal wear and tear is not covers.

I have used my new pack only a few times without the plate (I did add a few books) just to get started. So far, it is very comfortable and roomy. I plan to add a water bladder, so I don’t have to bring plastic bottles. It did take me a few minutes to figure out all the straps, but there are lots of places to attach things.
Awesome customer service. I received my ruck and started using the next day. The second day one of the sternum strap clips broke. I submitted a photo of the clip and within 24 hours had a response from Kim. Told me they would send a replacement ruck right away. Within a 2 week period i had a new rucking system That is what customer service should look like for all companies! I’ve been using the ruck for 2 weeks now and love it. The ruck system has been great!

As a dog walker & owner of 3 active dogs, I walk & hike A LOT. I decided I wanted to maximize on this easy activity I do daily so decided to start Rucking. In addition to being active I have spinal stenosis so I am always leary about the weight I put on my back or lift. After a lot of research regarding weighted vest & Rucking packs I decided on Wild Gym due to the construction & durability the pack appeared to have. I also knew I would need plates over those hacky sack bag products because it is important for me to have the weight distributed evenly & at the top of my back. Everything I read & saw about this product online was true to its description. I will say I am not sure of the pack size I chose. I am 5'8 and went with the L based on their suggestion. I did have to pretty much synch it all the way down on all areas. I am not sure if the other size would have been better for me, but I am keeping the one I received. I did start with a 20lb weight and it is perfect for me. One feature I didn't think I would care about and actually love are the water bottle & phone pockets on the straps. Super convenient for my business as I keep the dogs water there and am able to take photos of them easily for their owners :). I am also now considering taking the backpack to Europe this fall as my travel pack (without weight) because of these super convenient pockets. Needless to say the product has exceeded my expectations and I am so excited for my Rucking journey.
Ordered mine with a 30 lb. Plate and it was delivered within a week. High quality product! After strap it on I quickly realized I was not yet ready for 30 lbs. so I ordered both 10 and 20 lb. Plates. I received them within a few days, During both shipments, wild gym kept me posted on delivery. Great product and excellent workout. I've had two knee replacement surgeries and this product is helping me rebuild leg strength and readiness for elk hunting in MZt.
