Commuting. Laptops. DoorDash. Escalators. Elevators. E-bikes. Fast food. Amazon Prime. Grocery pickup.
All of these conveniences come at the expense of movement.
Even things designed specifically for movement — like sidewalks — remove terrain variety.
So when you Ruck, run, or walk on these surfaces, your body moves in one very specific way.
Contrast that with a trail, where every step is different.
A chair does the same thing.
It forces your body into the same shape day after day, while sitting on the ground usually causes you to change positions regularly.
I am in a constant battle against stillness and movement monoculture.
This is how I’m fighting back.
I sit on the floor with my laptop on top of a pillow. It’s a rudimentary setup, but it works surprisingly well.
I stand at my desk on a mat that was literally molded from the forest floor and river rocks.
I “gargoyle” in my chair, where I put my feet where my glutes would normally be and squat while typing.
Weird? Maybe.
Effective? 100%.
I also have a pull-up bar and dip bars about four feet from where I’m writing this email.
That’s why I designed Dash.
I wanted a way to move more throughout the workday and incorporate micro-workouts into my normal life.
But I didn’t want my office to look like a gym.
So when designing Dash, I worked with a steel manufacturer that also does work for high-end custom homes.
And it turned out exactly how I wanted.
Dash is easy to install.
It’s incredibly strong and durable.
And most importantly, it looks amazing.
Dash is hard not to use.
I regularly take breaks throughout the day to do pull-ups, rows, dips, core exercises, stretches, or simply hang from the bar.
I even have a second Dash installed in my garage for even more "opportunities for fitness".
At night, when I’m putting the kids to bed, I’ll sneak in a quick movement session on Dash for no other reason than it feels good.
Dash also expands what’s possible by becoming the perfect dashboard for other movement tools:
Gymnastics rings.
Resistance bands.
Suspension trainers.
Ab straps.
And probably a bunch of other tools I haven’t even thought of yet.
Dash is Made in the USA with a partner we’ve been working with for 12 years.
It helps you train:
Strength
Core
Flexibility
Mobility
Calisthenics
…and more.
